What really is a scholarship in college?
A scholarship is a awarded gift to any scholar who reaches the basis of academic achievement. Although some also take into account financial need. Scholarships are also not needed to be paid back which is a huge bonus to many college students.
Some of these college scholarships such as UNT (University of North Texas) students would be given such scholarships called UNT excellence scholarship, UNT meritorious scholarship for national merit finalists, SFAS academic scholarships. UNT also serves students scholarships based upon what type of career they are trying to become in.
What really is a Grant in college?
A Grant is a federal/ state and college level. Students usually are rewarded these grants for having a special talent(s) or even particular charateristics about themselves. You as a student could be eligible for more than one scholarship and great grant opportunities so, do your research. Here are also some very helpful tips on when apply for colleges and grants or scholarships. Student loans should be kept to a minimum when your applying for your education, and many grant opportunities will allow you to do just that.
Some grants are given for being such as a left handed writer, being a certain color or religion, being able to type a certain number of words per minute or even having blue eyes. Anything is possible with filling out grants for college. Did I also mention that you don't have to pay grants back either?

College Admissions...
1) What do I have left to do in order to get accepted to a college?
- As a junior I have a lot to get done over the summer so I can relax and focus on my senior year when it starts in the fall. Some of these fall into the categories of signing up for loans/scholarships, turning in my transcripts, retake my SAT and take my ACT, and focus on my grades/ GPA to be able to be accepted into that college. I have already signed up for taking a tour with the colleges that I have chosen to try to get accepted into as I will be doing that over the summer.
2) When will these tasks get accomplished? MAKE A TIME LINE-
-These tasks that I accomplish will help me to know and expect where to go for my first year of college and be able to plan ahead of what to get, or what to even prepare myself for. With accomplishing what I need to get done over the summer to be accepted into the college(s) I will be able to relax and enjoy my senior year ( OF COURSE FOCUS ON MY GPA TOO).
Summer 2015- Go visit colleges with my mom to look and see if the college is fit to me and if my mom would like it as well.
August 2015- Get buckled down on grades, prepare for college admissions and start saving money for college admissions payments and just college in general. Be encouraged to visit more colleges that isn't on your top 15 list but visit them as they should be your "back up colleges" just in case and be prepared to apply for more colleges as well.
December 2015- I should have some acceptance letters back from colleges that I applied to. I should talk to my mom and family and come to conclusions and narrow down my options on what college to attend in the fall of 2016.
Spring 2016- I should have a narrowed down option of what college to attend and, to be able to sign a agreement on what college I will be attending for the fall of 2016 once I am graduated by may of 2016!
Summer of 2016- Continue through what I need to get done in order to be ready for the fall of 2016. I should get such done as: Student ID, meal plans, housing options, packing for college and getting to know my roommate to be prepared for the fall of 2016.
I believe that I am on the way to where I need to be as a junior I still have some time to keep looking at the colleges that I may want to attend. Yet, I need to be prepared for senior year as I am finishing up the end of my High school career and beginning a new chapter in my life. I do admit though that I need to retake my SAT and I need to sign up to take my ACT and get my transcripts sent.

What is better?
In my opinion I would have to rate the US school Systems pretty low unlike Japans schooling systems. We the US have a disadvantage since we don't really take our schooling seriously and we focus more on how to get out of highschool and how to pass STARR rather than who and what jobs we will be doing with our lives. Japan takes more pressure on the state and on the kids although you do have options in japan to drop out of secondary schooling many students prefer to stay in school. Parents in Japan actually care about the kids education as well unlike the US. In conclusion the students of the US are having a disadvantage.
IS it worth it?
I believe that the time and effort is worth all of it in college or just even in school period. Getting a degree is SUPER important in todays society so you can have a good paying job and have money to live off of. Even though that there is jobs that you probably still could get paid great off of I am more than sure the majority of people prefer to have a college education to perform tasks in life. College is worth time, effort and money so you have to show that your putting your best into this.
Many high end jobs such as doctors, vets or even managers are asked to have some type of college degree. So in reality stop being lazy and lounging around the house and make something out of yourself if you are wanting to have wealth in your life.

Spring Break
What I did over spring break was pretty different from all my other spring breaks that I have experienced in the past. For the most of the week I was at home or working out to get my body into shape for the hot Texas summer days. While staying at home taking care of my little brother I managed my time looking at colleges and making calls to get signed up for a campus tour with the campus that I am interested in trying to attend after I graduate high school. Secondly Thursday night my mom decided that since prom is coming up pretty fast that we could start looking at some dresses that I would like and get to try them on to narrow down my options. Finally Friday was a fun filled day that included packing and a lot of driving. I picked up my mom from work since her car had a flat tire and she took me out to Abilene, TX. While there we visited my uncles WASPS collection that he works for. It was rather interested and very educational while we got to visit many archives that were not able to be displayed because, of new construction taking place.

The main themes for The dead poets society is individual vs. Conformity. Students at Welton Academy are based upon to be conformists. Influential leaders in the school all promote mindless and follow tradition without individualism through the course of the movie. Mr. Keating boosts the students to keep digging within themselves to be who they want to be and not like the other around them. Mr. Keating repeatedly does this to his students. These students that were based within his class room was on the verge to either conform or just rebel against others opinions about themselves. Mr. Nolan proclaims to other admin and tells or threaten Mr. Keating about his unorthodox ways of teaching. Yet, Mr. Keating rebels against Mr. Nolan as well and continues to teach the boys his unorthodox ways of poetry.

Poetry...
1. The most influence of a person I know is my uncle. But why is my uncle so important to me? My uncle influence is important me. He is pretty much the only person I look up to in my life due to no father figure he is like my second father. He has always told me I can come up to him for anything and because of his success in life is another reason why I look up to him for influence.
2. I do agree with Mr. Keating upon why he described poetry the way he did. No poetry is not cute and sweet, we write poetry to express life such a love, business, law and many other ways of poetry to be described as.
3. Yes I agree with Mr. Keating upon his standings of different views just by standing on his desk in the front of the class. I have to be in different views most of the time in a lot of circumstances. one of the times of standing in someone else's shoes to have a different view of things is babysitting four kids that I do every wensday night. I babysit two that have been taken away from their real family which I understand due to my father not wanting to do anything. Yet, the other two are not big fans or, bullies of the two little ones.
4. I hope the lasting impression that I have on this world would be my impression that I left on people not just with me being around them but me being a memory left in their heart for ever. I cant imagine myself on what I would leave in a impression on this world or anyone. Besides my laughter, tears and smile.

Dead Poets Society Review:
1. I believe in my opinion who changed the most in the movie "Dead poets society" was Todd which was a new student to the academy as well as Neil's roommate. Todd starts out as the most timid of the others in the movie but then, Todd starts to gain confidence in himself thanks to Mr. Keating and Neil's encouragement from them.
2. The character who did not change that much in the movie "Dead Poets Society" would be Knox Overstreet, he changed just a bit from the boy who was book smart and daring to the boy who went after "Chris the girl of his dreams" as he claims. Yet, throughout this whole movie Knox did not change his feeling about Chris and kept chasing her until he could get her.
3. Mr. Keating's character is rather than just one character about himself. Mr. Keating in my opinion was trying to bring life and free thinking to the school, he also makes teaching poetry of English fun and always interesting for the boys to understand and learn. Yet, Mr. Keating is also fired/ kicked out of the school for teaching in unorthodox ways and learning about Neil's death. In other words Mr. Keating is character as a blithe spirit, a unorthodox yet cool teacher, a scrape goat and a saver for the boys.
4. Many of the boys over come large mountains that they believed that they couldn't just do on their own. Mr. Keating helped these boys in many ways with their many difficult times.
Todd Anderson was beating himself to death over how to read out loud and speaking up. Until, Mr. Keating helps him out by bringing him up in front of the classroom and shuts his eyes to view what he sees to show him that he can do exactly everything like everyone else. Neil was a boy of fear, a fear of speaking or standing up for himself to his father. He let his father take control of his life until Mr. Keating sat down and talked to Neil about the issues of Neil's father. Neil I believed failed at trying to talk to his father about his problems and just killed himself to solve the issues. Charlie was a shy and timid boy in the begging of the movie who later spins out of control and falls into love with the "Girl of his dreams" as he claims her as, Charlie was always wanting to be himself and stand out of the crowd.

Focus on Mona Lisa Smile
I chose to answer number one and number five, number one asks what exactly were the roles of the women in the 1950s and how are they different from Katherine Watsons eyes?
The roles of women in the 1950s were portrayed as a different view in Katherine Watsons eyes, society believed that the women of the 1950s were to be able to have a education yet, marry, have children take care of those kids along with house and have dinner on the table by a certain time ( mainly before their husband made it home). As of Katherine Watsons eyes in this opinion of women of the 1950s were different, Katherine Watson believed that is not always the Ladies job to go to school, have a education and be able take care of family and house work.
Number five asks do you think that Betty was happy being married to Spencer, and note to self that her mother did not want to betty staying the night at her place but yet to go home. Why?
I believe that Betty was not happy at all with being married to Spencer nor, was Betty ready to take on the challenges of marriage and being a house wife. She didn't think it was right for Spencer to be able to leave every second he had and leave her. Her mother didn't believe that Betty had a right to sleep at her mothers house but yet to take care of Betty's own house and wait for spencer at home like a good wife should.
In conclusion yes the females role in the 1950s were different from now and Betty was not too happy with Spencer and her marriage.

Compare & Contrast
Comparing the style of teaching from Katherine Watson to Charles Dickens' is one of a kind. Why? Well from comparing Katherine Watson to Charles Dickens' I noticed Katherine had a different way of teaching not only from the professors at Wesley college but Charles Dickens' way too. Katherine saw her prospective of teaching after the girls studied the whole syllabus that was given at the beginning of the year. Katherine basically "Threw the book out the window" and taught the girls much more than what they memorized by just a book and some note cards, Katherine made the girls think outside of the box by not only looking at the painting but trying to connect to that painting or the painter some how. She made the girls teach themselves about the history of art. Katherine noticed that many of these women had great potential. As I stated Katherine made the girls think outside of the box by not only looking at the painting but by trying to connect to the painter as well. As Katherine quoted in the movie to the girls while looking at one painting she claims " You are not required to like it; just consider it."

What is really Mona Lisa smile?
Honestly in my opinion the movie Mona Lisa Smile was different from what I wrote before watching the movie. In this movie I would have to say my favorite part was the ending with Betty riding her bike beside the taxi and trying to touch her professor for the last time before she left for good. This movie taught much about friendship and true colors behind people. It showed me upon how a professor can change the littlest things and make them truly changeable into a beautiful "Mona Lisa". The theme of this movie makes me feel like without their professor I am sure that betty and her friends would have been lost and Wesley college of history of art and the girls in that class would have thought completely about themselves and their marriages. Not about the true future of themselves and friends yet, their professor used images to create a relate able story plot off of their own issues that the girls had.

Mona Lisa
I believe this movie called "Mona Lisa smile" is about a college teacher who learns from her students while teaching them about the history of art. One particular student teachers her about love, the art of kindness and more personality within herself. Yet, the class learns about each others personality's, love and passion of others love while in college. Based upon what I watched on the trailer.

What is the diffrences?
I believe that you should study hard and should be memorizing and preparing for any test or quizzes in college. I believe that the college test, exams, and or quizzes are longer than the ones from college. Not only are they longer but, they also are more in depth upon what you have learned the past semester or just within the past few weeks or so. High school exams, quizzes and tests are much more easier and not as in depth as college ones are. Not only that but, they are taken much more often than college tests. You can always prepare for college tests by being prepared and confident in your education of readiness by studying and being committed to studying. If you don't even understand anything while learning something in class for a test always feel free to ask as many questions as you can, get help by a tutor and take as many notes as you can.
